아이테르는 2026년 1월 열리는 라유 작가의 개인전을 앞두고 작가와 대면 미팅을 진행하며 작업 전반의 방향성을 공유했다. 라유 작가는 최근 유리 작업, 오브제, 회화 작업을 중심으로 지역의 정서와 서사를 시각화하는 창작을 꾸준히 이어오고 있으며, 작업에 대한 태도와 조형적 완성도 면에서 단단한 확신을 보여주었다.
아이테르는 이번 전시를 계기로 라유 작가가 구축해온 시각적 언어를 보다 넓은 국제적 맥락 속에서 소개하고자 한다. 특히 유리라는 매체가 지닌 투명성, 빛의 굴절, ‘보이는 것’과 ‘보이지 않는 것’의 경계를 다루는 방식은 지역의 이야기를 새로운 시각적 구조로 번역하는 데 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 감각적·조형적 특징은 글로벌 시장에서도 주목받을 수 있는 확장성을 지닌 것으로 평가된다.
현재 아이테르는 라유 작가의 유리 작업, 오브제, 평면 회화로 구성된 작품군을 기반으로 지역의 정서가 담긴 콘텐츠를 정교하게 제작 중이며, 이를 아트시(Artsy)와 같은 글로벌 아트 플랫폼을 통해 순차적으로 공개할 예정이다. 이를 통해 국내 창작자들의 지역 기반 작업이 국제적 담론 속에서 새로운 위치를 확보할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.
아이테르는 앞으로도 지역에 뿌리내린 창작자들과 협력하여 로컬 서사를 현대적 조형언어로 재해석하고, 이를 국내외 관람자에게 연결하는 역할을 지속적으로 수행할 예정이다. 이번 라유 작가 개인전은 그러한 비전의 첫 단계이자, 로컬 기반 창작을 글로벌 생태계로 확장하는 중요한 사례가 될 전망이다.
