이원기 작가의 전시 ≪어머니 전상서≫가 오는 10월 1일부터 10일까지 부산 범일가옥에서 열린다. 이번 전시는 작가의 개인적 경험을 바탕으로 한 깊이 있는 서사와 감정 표현이 중심이 되며, 관객들에게 새로운 시각적 경험을 제공한다. 특히 이번 전시는 전통 가옥의 독특한 공간적 특성을 적극 활용해 관객들이 마치 작가의 내면을 탐험하듯 각 방을 이동하며 작품을 감상할 수 있게 구성되었다.

This exhibition centers on the artist's deep narrative and emotional expression based on his personal experiences, offering a new visual experience to the audience. In particular, this exhibition actively utilizes the unique spatial characteristics of the traditional house, allowing visitors to move through the rooms as if exploring the artist's inner world while appreciating the works.

Wonki Lee has created his works based on the personal grief of parting with his mother. His work uniquely expresses the psychological pain caused by his mother’s death, which led to depression and insomnia. He uses natural materials such as graphite, charcoal, and powder to reflect these emotional scars. His works often feature metaphorical images and abstract forms, visually conveying the complexity of emotions and memories.

One of Wonki Lee’s signature works, "White Risk," leaves a strong impression on viewers. This piece uses the image of white pills piling up like snow to address the heavy topics of depression and insomnia, delivering emotional pain in a direct way. At this exhibition, a special experience zone has been prepared where visitors can recreate "White Risk" using carbon paper. The first 30 visitors will have the chance to directly experience the creative process behind "White Risk" by Wonki Lee. In this zone, each visitor can create a piece on a 10-ho canvas, gaining insight into the artist’s creative process and personally feeling his artistic language.

Wonki Lee’s work goes beyond merely expressing personal wounds, expanding these experiences into a universal social context. In this exhibition, the main objective is to guide the audience into reflecting on their own wounds and emotions through personal confessions, encouraging empathy and healing. The social significance of this exhibition is particularly strong, as it addresses the various emotional wounds and pain experienced by people in modern society, offering comfort and understanding through the artist's works.

≪Letter to Mother≫ not only reveals Wonki Lee's inner scars but also offers the audience a profound emotional connection and the potential for healing.
