As a child, drawing was simply a joyful play. But as time went on, he began to feel pressured to attach meaning to his work. Art, once a source of delight, started to feel like an obligation, as if there were a “right answer” to be found. When that joy began to shift into duty, Kim sought to reclaim the original sense of freedom he had once felt. This longing for liberation is deeply embedded in his works.
Crossing the boundaries between painting and digital media, Minho Kim challenges the limits of expression. The physical canvas and the digital screen are distinct platforms, yet through his touch, they begin to share the same essence. This mirrors the way we all live different lives, yet fundamentally pursue the same desires—freedom and happiness.
