: 흐릿한 숲과 호수의 풍경 위에 차콜의 문지른 흔적과 푸른 아크릴 제스처가 겹쳐진 작품이다. 캔버스를 감싼 플라스틱 랩은 회화의 앞면과 뒷면, 표면과 구조의 경계를 흐리며 회화의 물질성과 존재 방식을 확장한다.
The work features a charcoal landscape centered around a lake, with trees softly emerging into view. The smudged and rubbed charcoal evokes the blurred textures of cinematic effect, expressing not emotional intensity but a flow of sensory perception. Each canvas is covered with a layer of plastic wrap, upon which light, rhythmic touches of blue acrylic are applied. These brushstrokes introduce movement and fluidity to an otherwise fixed surface, allowing the gesture of wrapping to merge with painterly expression.
Notably, this series also involves wrapping the reverse side of the canvas with plastic wrap. This move blurs the traditional distinction between front and back, further destabilizing the directional logic of painting. On the reverse side of the canvas, small green marks reminiscent of leaves are scattered across the surface. These marks appear as independent forms, yet are interconnected, evoking an image of coexistence and mutual dependency. By allowing the work to exist between front and back, I propose an expanded understanding of the materiality and presence of painting.
