현대 사회에서 스스로 원하지도 않는 과거의 부정적인 사건과 감정들은 일상 속에서 끊임없이 나타났다 사라지곤 한다. 하지만 과연 사라질수 있을까?

요즘 현대인들은 잊혀질 권리를 박탈당했다. 바로 SNS 때문이다. SNS 는 현대인들을 가장 자주 사용하며 잘 표현하는 매개체라고 할수 있다.

주된 캐릭터인 오필리아는 서양 문학의 셰익스피어의 햄릿의 내용 중 연인으로 등장하는 오필리아에서 차용했다. 헴릿의 연인인 오필리아는 불행하게도 죽을 때 마저 아름다움으로 기록되어진 인물이다. 그런데 ‘오필리아’ 현대인과 닮지 않았는가?

공개되지 않았으면 하는 유명인의 죽음마저 전혀 모르는 타인의 sns에 추모라는 이름으로

박제 되곤 한다. 21세게 요즘 미디어는 죽음마저 포르노화 시켜버렸다.

누군가의 죽음과 슬픔을 완벽한 타인이 그 불행을 부풀려 SNS에 전시한다. 과거의 오필리아와 같이 말이다. 우리의 죽음 또한 100년 후에도 타인에게 전시될 것이다.

우린 SNS를 통해 잊혀질 권리를 박탈당한 최초의 인류니까.

과연 죽음만일까?

작품 속 오필리아는 항상 눈물을 달고 있다.

언제나 전시 대상이 되는 존재가 되어 감정적으로 자유롭지 못한 것을 뜻하는 것이다.

우리는 생각해야 한다. 우리가 보여주는 것인지 보여짐을 당하는것인지
